religious society of Friends which originated in the UK in the
seventeenth century

talk will be given by the President of the Brisbane Theosophical
Society and will look at the qualities of forces that make up nature
and creation. The Gunas are the intertwining forces that weave
together to make material nature, including human
consciousness. Understanding these inherent qualities can lead to
a life of peace and

the ancient world, the esoteric schools preserved those sacred
traditions which ensouled secular knowledge The solemn rites elevated

abuses which result from ignorance. This philosophy which
underlies the Greek and Roman Mysteries can make a valuable
